"Perfect" - One Direction/2015
Original Music Video.
'KISS VIDZ' tid bits OF INFO
Released 16 October 2015,
as the second single from their album Made in the A.M. (2015),
it debuted at number one in Ireland,
and reached the top 10 in several countries,
including the UK, US, France, New Zealand and Australia.
Written by members Styles and Tomlinson,
along with regular collaborators, Bunetta and Ryan among others,
the up-tempo pop hit was released to positive critical acclaim.
In various interviews,
the band members and co-writers describe differing aspects
of the composition and overall meaning of the song.
The song is in D major.
Long-time writer and producer for the band,
Julian Bunetta described the writing process as 'difficult' due
to the writing occurring whilst the members travelled from country
to country during their 2015 On The Road Again Tour.
Bunetta continues,
calling the single 'a jam' and a 'good driving song' Meanwhile,
controversy broke over the song's meaning,
with rumours arising about its relation to band member Harry Styles'
brief romance with Taylor Swift in late 2012-2013.
The lyrics
"If you're looking for someone to write your break-up songs about"
was analysed by media who believed referenced Swift's numerous
penned songs about Styles on Swift's album "1989".
Styles however, refuted these claims,
"I'm never going to tell someone what it means to them,
because there's a lot of songs where I feel something completely
different from what the writer intended me to feel.
It's obviously funny to see,
but it's up to everybody's individual interpretation,"
the band member repeated this stance in numerous
interviews when questioned.
Band member Liam Payne, also refuted this claim,
stating "That one bit of the song came in very late,
so it won’t change the whole realm of the song.
Louis wrote on it too, so how could he write about Taylor Swift?"
The latter synonymously added,
“Everybody draws on their own experience so it’s not crazy thing
if that’s what it’s about...”
One Direction
(commonly abbreviated as 1D)
are an English-Irish popboy band based in London,
composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson,
and previously, Zayn Malik until his departure from the band
on 25 March 2015.
The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records
after forming and finishing third in the seventh series
of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010.
Propelled to international success by social media,
One Direction's four albums,
Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012),
Midnight Memories (2013) and Four (2014)
topped charts in most major markets,
and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful",
"Live While We're Young", and "Story of My Life".
Their fifth studio album, Made in the A.M.,
was released in November 2015...
Music Video
The music video was directed by Sophie Muller,
and premiered on Vevo on 20 October 2015.
The video,
filmed in black and white,
depicts how the band lives while on tour,
and was filmed at the Intercontinental Hotel
in Midtown Manhattan, New York City
in early September 2015.
The video features shots of the members as they relax
in a hotel room during their 2015 tour...

by One Direction,
until P.J. sent me a link to this video on Christmas Eve.
and i admit i enjoyed the song very much...

after hearing this song,
