my thoughts.2.1:

(07 Feb 2012 - 12 Jan 2012)

*a place to say what's on my mind,

and in my heart...

07 Feb 2012/2pm

good afternoon kids.

well, I took my daughter and her gf's to school for possibly the last time to day.

exciting and heartbreaking, all wrapped up into one confused emotion.

I guess I'm the only one in the house who is rather 'bummed' about my young daughter losing a

little bit of her innocence.

I've barely had a year to get to know my child,

and now I'm going to have to share her with

'the streets of southern california'.

now on the other hand;

I was so informed now that ms kiss will be driving every chance she gets,

I may never have to leave the house 'ever again'.

so I guess Ash will be doing all the grocery shopping,

petco runs, and driving her old man around in the rv to all his favorite sporting events.

not quite sure if she wants to be the designated

'house mouse delivery driver'

but I'm sure she'll volunteer to do the ice cream runs for her grandparents, which actually works for me.

ok then, in other news;

the weather today is rather humid out and has been raining of and on throughout the day.

Ash' new kitten was screaming today when I returned to the house this morning, so I picked-up 'little choco-kiss' and brought her/him (still unsure of the sex)

into my room to be with me.

needless to say, the kitten was a little bit over-whelmed with the other animals around and stayed in my arms/lap the entire time. after the dogz and other 2 cats finally laid down, choco was a little more at ease.

as far as her puppy goes, mr 'un-named' is just having a fine time running around getting used to his new surroundings. he is still having a bit of trouble with keeping up with the others going up/down the stairs,

but he is doing as well as can be expected.

as far as the other residents of casa-kiss:

the grandparents went to get a cheese cake for dessert tonight, Ashley is watching the news, and Jessica is currently doing 'business stuff'.

and of course I'm busy now with you guys.

oh my, I just received/read an email from my 'email friend', nothing this young lady says will ever shock me.

and her views of life are not only 'very real',

but has an 'excitement value attached'.

goodness, some people could just recite the ingredients in corn-meal and it would be entertaining.

alright, I have some things to do before I go pick-up Ash from school. I wonder how many curious looks I will get when I pull-up in the vw bug to pick her up. ha-ha

talk to you guys soon...

-continued/6pm-

good evening.

well, there is a new 'provesional driver' in the house.

she did very, very well on her driving test.

but she didn't have to take the written again.

apparently, I am all confused on this whole

under-16 drivers license thing.

she was issued a 'temporary' today,

and will be receiving her permanant one within 6-8wks. that kinda sucks sweaty balls.

also;

Restrictions:

"First 12 months of licensure may not transport passengers under age 20, and may not drive between the hours of

11:00 PM and 5:00 AM without parent/other driver as specified in

Section 12814.6 CVC."

which translates to; Ash cannot have 'anyone' younger than 2oyrs old in the car with her without

a guardian/over 25yrs of age.

and if she does, the penalty is severe;

suspended license until your 18th birthday,

and then you have to 'reapply', retest, and once again be a 'provesional driver for an additional 12months,

plus HIGHER insurance premiums.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree, but it just kinda lets the air outa the whole 'have fun with your friends thing'.

but for safety's sake, a wonderful state law.

and according to the field tester chick,

fatalities dramatically decreased after the law was introduced in 2006.

which is always a good thing.

alrighty then. we are all getting ready to go out to dinner for a little celebration of my 'big girl' ace'n her driver's test. *my 'email friend' had informed me that when she took her driving test, she wore a 'real short skirt' on purpose to keep the 'old guy' from concentrating on her test. dear god!!!

I'm no alter-boy mind you, but this woman...

nothing that comes on her emails will EVER surprise me. omg. the 'blt cheeseburger' ad for jack-in-the-box;

"you may now 'eat' the bride".

(my new favorite commercial of all time!)

I'll check-in later...

-continued/9pm-

good evening everyone.

we went to dinner at the 'wolf creek restaurant' located

in calabasas on agoura road. outstanding.

if you live in the vicinity,

you really should try this place.

this is the 3rd time we've been there,

and each time we always get a few appitizers each;

I always choose their brushetta, and the mac-n-cheese;

w/ pasta shells in a housemade cheese sauce:

gorgonzola, jack, and brie,

topped with crispy smokey bacon, parmesan croutons

and gorgonzola crumbles. so damn good.

and since I fat-gram'd before dinner,

I had the seared ahi salad.

*note: if you ever go there for happy hour: 4p-6p;

you must try the 'chicken & apple empanadas.

better than sex! (well, maybe not.)

so after dinner, we all piled back into the suv and had

'our driver' take us home. she's a very good driver, btw.

and she is so very excited to drive her 'new car' to school tomorrow. when her mom asked her 'which one' she was going to drive, Ash just smiled and said; "I don't know yet". jeesh. I have no idea what my new morning routine is going to be now. I'm lost, I need direction. help me.

I'll be enroute to portland, oregon tomorrow. yay! :(

I normally will look-in on the forecasted weather when I travel somewhere, but seeing how it's 'oregon/washington border', I'm guessing rain, snow, wind, cold, etc.

I'll leave my flip-flops at home.

alright, I'm going to make some popcorn,

and watch my dvr shows.

I will check-in before I leave for the 'great northwest' tomorrow. good night all. sweet dreams.

08 Feb 2012/6pm

good evening from the fabulous metropolitan known as portland, oregon.

I had planned on 'updating' before I left the house,

but once again I was side-tracked by one thing or another.

so actually, I'm not exactly in portland,

but the town of beaverton. which is a suburb 'of sorts'.

this location is much closer to my business dealings than portlands hotel row.

a pretty nice suite these people put me into this time,

just one complaint though:

too far away from the strip-joints. just kidding.

I'll be here until friday night.

was planning on not going home til saturday,

but decided to catch a flight back before the weekend.

so I played the over-bearing dad

this morning before Ash drove herself to school

for the first time.

she decided she wanted to drive her mustang. so of course I go out and check 'everything';

the oil, signals, wipers, lights, seatbelts, fluids,

tire pressure... what a schmuck, the car has 97 miles on it.

I even stood in the drive waving as she

pulled-out this morning.

my god, what the hell is wrong with me?

truth be told, I was relieved when she left a vm on my cell while I was on my flight saying she was home,

and didn't plan on going back out cause she had

a report to do.

I know, I know; I need to relax and just go with the flow.

I will, this is just very new to me.

alrighty then, I'm rather hungry, and have no idea what I'm going to do for dinner. I'm thinking asian, with red hair. (kidding)

seriously, chinese or sushi sounds good.

let me check out the surrounding area.

I guess I could walk, it's misty out but not raining.

more like a fog I'd say. I'll check-in later.

-continued/10pm-

hi. just getting ready to call it a nite.

went down the block and had some sushi for dinner,

not the best I've ever had... but not the worst.

actually, the cucumber salad was very good,

but the seaweed wrap wasn't fresh.

If I get sick, I will go back there tomorrow and take a huge crap in the middle of their quaint little diner.

I figure if they're going to make 'shitty' sushi,

let them use 'fresh' ingredients.

*that's actually very funny.

so, it's raining now (of course it is);

but it's so serene outside, and I'm sitting here in my hotel room w/the back slider open and listening to the rain hitting the table/chairs on the patio balcony.

I never really appreciated the rain until I lived in las vegas for over 17yrs, where it rains like twice a year. seriously!

so even though I have bitched 'a few' times in this forum about having inclement weather;

I do enjoy the sound of the rain drops,

and also the flutter of snow flakes as long as I'm not driving. especially the rig.

*it's not 'my' driving I'm worried about,

it's the other asses on the road. it's always the others.

I have a wake-up call in for 5am,

(even tho I never use alarm clocks)

so I can be at their corporate offices all ready

to rock/roll by 7:30am.

I don't have a presentation or anything like that,

this is more like a 'follow-up' appointment to discuss/confirm what me and the kimchi-eaters discussed and agreed upon last time we were here.

and if everything goes well the next couple of days

as I 'know' it will,

I shouldn't have to be up here again till possibly

may or june. and seeing how the sfgiants will be playing regularly during that time frame; I'm sure that I will be mixing business w/pleasure then.

alright, I guess it's time for bed;

no body pillows, no cats/dogs, no kid... I won't sleep well.

09 Feb 2012/1pm

-cont/4:45pm-

SHIT!!!

good afternoon people.

just a short update before I begin my the rest of my day.

it's been raining since I got up this morning at 5am,

and the forecast calls for the wet stuff thru the weekend.

no wonder the northwestern united states are so green.

as I stated before, my day started early and I was 30min ahead of schedule when I arrived for my meet/greet.

and then they had me wait an additional 90min before

our brief walk and talk.

I did enjoy the guided tour of the facility (again),

and was also given 'free-reign' to some personal shopping in a huge warehouse. happy birthday to me.

after 'picking-up' three shopping carts full of 'product',

I met the powers-to-be at a mongolian bbq eatery and ate to my stomachs content.

in some personal news; I have decided to 'completely cut ties' with a woman who has been a friend for over 24yrs.

she was once a true fantasy of mine.

but since re-engaging in a friendship again after a fairly long hiatus, I have decided it is more of a burden than an enjoyment to have any type of relationship with this person. it's actually a shame, as I once held this woman on the top of my 'wanna spend the rest of my life with you in bed' list.

but considering the fact she is nearly 50, never been married, doesn't have the know-how to be a wife not to mention a 'mother', there is absolutely no apparent reason to stay in communication with someone who is nothing more than an ex-fantasy, bi-polar, mess.

and I know she reads this site semi-daily to do nothing more than to give her opinion on matters that

don't even concern her.

I'm tired of her analizing everything 'I do' or 'don't do' simply because she thinks that because I bared-my-soul to her once or twice before,

gives her the right to bitch and complain about my current lifestyle and living arrangements.

so, 'miss east coast' it would be best to forget you ever

knew me, stop pretending to be a 'ms know-it-all',

and stay out of my life until... 'forever'!

we could've had a friendship, but now I'd rather you hate me as you do every other man you've ever been with.

and with that being said, I feel as if I just took a 126pd shit. ok guys, sorry for the berating of another human being,

but the bitch deserved it!!!

I'll talk to ya soon...

(you still think I'm a nice guy 'mchottie'?)

-continued/11:30pm-

hi guys.

I'm so tired.

well I had my dinner w/the suits,

and during the meal I was notified by one of my tweet-peeps that the person I was referring to in the above entry had actually sent her a threatning message a few months back telling this nice lady to leave me 'the fuck alone'.

wow; goodbye, and good riddance.

if anyone else who follows me on twitter has had problems with 'anyone' because of me,

please let me know immediately.

I'm not going to give this pyscho's twitter handle,

but if I receive anymore complaints,

I will report this bi-polar shit head to twitter

for making threats.

hey miss east coast, get on with your life.

un-fucking-believable.

I just don't understand people sometimes,

you think you know somebody and then...

boom; P Y S C H O!

ok, I'm not going to continue this ridiculous subject matter. we all make mistakes, say stupid things and so forth.

so anyway. I talked with 'the kid' tonite, she apparently likes this driving to/fro school thing.

but has informed me that she has already received pressure from a few ofher friends to take them in the car

without a guardian present.

I told her if they were 'true friends', they wouldn't ask

her to break the law.

and reminded her of the penalty phase of such an act.

she wouldn't tell me who 'the friends' were,

and I am hoping that it's not one of the 'girl-6' young ladies.

that would be heartbreaking. I guess I'd rather not know. she has grades coming out again soon,

and I just hope that her new-found-freedom doesn't interfere with her current study habits.

after dinner tonite, I walked to a couple nearby bars to see if I could watch the stanford/ucla game.

because of the oregon teams playing,

it took me a few places before I finally found a 'good ol-boy' from southern cal that already had the game on.

bruins beat the cardinals, sorry ADH.

alright, I'm tired and I still have a few things I need to do before I go to sleep. I'll see ya guys tomorrow.

10 Feb 2012/11pm

good evening.

I've had a very long and busy day which started

at 5am this morning.

I awoke just in time to join the friday-morn power walk gathering that they do every week.

good for them, but no thanks... too much like the corps; formations, motivational chants, all dressed exactly alike. fuck that shit!

*they do have an excellent health care plan though.

so after the jog in the early morning mist;

having a low fat, high protein breakfast buffet,

it was time to start my day.

a few meetings, a few breaks, a few phone calls.

and of course having to deal with the disintegration of a few relationships today; one personal, one business.

but after all the above,

it was just a regular normal day for me.

caught my ride back to the LA area

(I'm not big on flying in the rain)

and was met by my daughter and her mother at LAX.

remind me 'never' to fly-in on a friday night again.

I had a few cocktails on the flite,

but was pretty hungry when I met up with A & A.

so we did the friday night in-n-out drive-thru thing.

and yes, my kid let me eat a burger, fries and shake in her new car. I was careful... trust me.

I love the mustard double/double served animal style;

lettuce leafs instead of buns, grilled onions, tomato, pickles, and a little extra sauce.

I already anticipated some heartburn,

and swallowed a couple tums.

after getting back here to the house;

I played/walked the dogs, took a mega-hot shower and came downstairs to chat with everyone.

now it's nearing 11pm, and I'm the only one left

in the kitchen; grandpa jack is watching 'ufc' in the den, grandma jo is reading the book 11.22.63 (great book),

Ash is in her bedroom talking with 'some boy'.

and Ashley and Jessica just left to go meet-up

with some guys.

(everyone has 'a date' tonite, cept for 'daddy kiss')

at least everyone is doing what they want to.

my child had a little bit of a situation today at school

w/one of her teachers

(of course, the one that doesn't like me, nor I her)

but will not pass judgement or even say anything

what-so-ever until I meet with this teacher and the

vice-principal monday morning.

I will keep an open-mind/opinion til we all

have our pow-wow.

so besides the school thing today, her puppy (still no-name) has discovered she likes to chew on things,

as a pair of my slipper sox have met their doom.

*that's why we have rawhide chew bones in the

dog chest people!!! but, whatever.

as far as little choco; she is currently residing soley in Ash' bedroom and gameroom until she gets a little bigger.

the kitten twins aren't to sure of the new feline that has come to be in their domain. it'll be fine tho.

ok then, I'm pretty beat, and still have a few things

I need to do before I crash.

hope everyone had a fantastic friday,

and has a exceptional weekend planned. good night...

11 Feb 2012/5pm

good afternoon/evening from semi-beautiful southern cal, it's currently cloudy out & 59' outside.

had an interesting start to my day;

to begin with I didn't even get outa bed until 9:30am.

I loved sleeping-in.

*grandpa jack had my early morn-chores covered.

after getting up, having coffee and just screwing around;

I took a shower and headed downstairs and had bagels/cream cheese that 'the new driver in the house'

had already picked-up.

*I like this daughter driving to do errands thing!!!

after which I went back upstairs to make a few calls,

and then boom; was reminded that the ucla basketball game was only an hour away.

I couldn't believe that I had all but forgotten

about 'game day'.

I guess my priorities have changed in the last year.

so we all climbed into the rig, and we were off.

arriving at the LA sports arena just after the 6min mark

of the 1st half.

again; not many fans at the game; and the bruins lost.

after the game, we decided NOT to go to west covina and just came straight home.

we'll be bbq'n chicken breasts tonite for dinner,

along with sweet potatoes, coleslaw, and corn on the cob. after dinner, I'm going to do some work on a couple proposals and then we're all going to go to the 9pm showing of 'journey 2; the mysterious island in 3d. girl-6's choice.

as far as tomorrow goes, I'll be taking Jessica to the airport as she is flying back east to serve her estranged

husband divorce papers.

and then she is going to take care of something for me,

in person. it's amazing what you can do if you have the proper resources, and knowledge available.

as far as me for tomorrow; weather permitting,

I'm thinking that I may resume my

'cowboy wanna-be lessons'.

I still can't believe I'm not that good at riding a horse.

oh well, I'm sure there are a few things you

guys can't do either. like riding a bike; eh, shirley?

just bustin your hump gurl.

alrighty then, I have somethings to take care of before dinner, I'll check-in later.

-continued/7pm-

getting ready to sit for dinner,

just heard about Whitney Houston's death.

so, so sad...

getting ready to sit for dinner,

just heard about Whitney Houston's death.

so, so sad...

12 Jan 2012/9pm

good evening my friends;

well, well, well; what an interesting night (24hrs) I (we) had.

not really sure how to start this entry, so I will just jump-in. after dinner last night; girl-6, myself, Jessica, Ashley and grandma jo all went to the 3d showing of journey-2.

very entertaining movie.

dwayne 'the rock' johnson isn't going to be winning an

oscar nomination anytime soon,

but his dry sense of humor is fairly cool.

and Ash and her friends think he is 'boss'...

wtf is that even mean?

so after the movie, grandma jo took 'girl-6' back to the house for 'saturday sleeper',

and Ashley, Jessica and myself went clubbing.

clubbing; driving from place to place until you find people who look like you, dress like you, and won't make fun of the way you dance. right?

needless to say;

we ended up at some place on vine st in LA that Jess had heard was a 'underground club'.

*ok, I will admit this to you; I thought we were going to end up in some basement area of some meat packing plant surrounded by zombies and drugged-out teeny-boppers. hence; underground.

but the place we did go to was actually pretty cool.

I couldn't tell you the name or the exact location;

and the music wasn't the standard rap-crap, nor the sci-fi bing-blang. the dj played a huge mix and most I even recognized. (scary eh?) and because of the sudden death of whitney yesterday, her songs were always in demand.

I had a great time dancing,

and btw, I 'was not' the only old guy there.

I have absolutely no idea what time we left, but I do remember yaking in the outside trash can of a nearby 7-11. yes, yes I did.

by the time we left, driving home was not an option.

so we hit a couple late-nite (early morning drive-thru's)

and 'drove' to the nearest hotel, got two rooms.

boom. we ate, we feel asleep. no sex.

because Jessica had a flite outa LAX this

afternoon to the east coast;

my wonderful now driving daughter brought down her luggage, and picked-up Jess and her mom and then did the airport transport thing for her dad.

I will now go on official record and say;

I 'fukin' love this teenage daughter driving thing!!!

and yes I slept most of the day.

but, I did have a little intestinal cramp problem today.

and I am thinking it may have been the gallon or so of alcohol I drank last night; or the left-over peanut-coleslaw,

or pizza, burrito and/or half eaten burger that was stored at room tempeture until I ate most of it upon waking.

ya, I know... IDIOT.

so needless to say, I went back to bed after my insides

started to rip apart.

and had to call downstairs for a few more rolls

of toilet paper. disgusting.

also, considering my room was not checked-out of by noon, and I did tell the housekeeper earlier I was probably staying another night, I'm still here.

*updating this on my mobile, or at least trying to.

so as the dusk approached, I decided to get my bloated

hung-over ass up and shower using room soap/shampoo/conditioner and go outside.

and since I had pepto'd my 'left-overs' outa my ass,

I thought going out to dinner was a good idea.

so I drove down to the santa monica pier, parked and walked to mariasol at the end of the pier.

maybe I shoulda had a few beers earlier in the day,

cause after my 2nd brewski, I felt fukin great.

I tried to keep the spice and sauce to a minimum;

had a three cheese quesadilla,

and carnitas, beans, w/warm flour tortillas. very good food.

it wasn't palacios mexi-food, but edible.

also, the restaurant was not that busy what-so-ever.

after dinner I stayed on the pier for a little bit,

talking with a few old guys who were trying

to catch something.

also, I really enjoy the fresh salt air out there. love it!

living in vegas for so long, you forget what the coast/beach smells/sounds like at nite.

sometimes I really enjoy being alone at times like this.

maybe that is a reason why I'm playing hooky from

my house tonight.

believe me though when I say I will be anxious to get home tomorrow (wake-up call at 5am).

I do have parental responsibility in the morning;

a meeting w/one of Ash' teachers to inquire of the problem that was friday. should be fun.

ok then. I will now try to publish this mess.

hope you all had an awesome weekend,

and have a great week ahead.

good nite.

to be continued on 'my thoughts.2.2':
